Wow- that was a fast weekend. After not sleeping on a memory foam mattress, it was absolutely wonderful to finally be back sleeping on one. Our new mattress arrived on Friday and the last three nights I have had the best sleep in month's. It is amazing how much better and rested I feel.
So it is only a four day work week- followed by a three day weekend, which is AWESOME !!!!
Heading up to the lake this weekend for some sun, some wave runner riding and most importantly- RELAXATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So as you know , we are back in our house and had lots of work to do this weekend. We had to get the kid's beds out of the house and upstairs entertainment center as well.. Thanks to my buddy- Glenn- who came over and helped on saturday night- take down the beds and the entertainment center and get them out of the house. Glenn was a huge help and I definetly owe him a couple of favors. So then with the beds out of the house, we had to put the girl's new beds together-- this was fairly easy, but as always there is a hic up. We had to run out and buy new box springs mattress for the girls ( don't ask). But finally after all the running around, their new beds are set up and look great. Erin did a great job picking out their new beds and I am sure they will be very happy and surprised when they see them Tuesday night.
Sunday, my wife again ( as always) did a wonderful job singing at the worship service, she is an amazing singer !!!!!!
So we are still dealing with a few small issues with all the repairs, and that is as expected when you have a fire, I am confident that it will all be fixed to our standards. Cornerstone has done a great job and I know they will finish it the right way.
We are truly blessed with the way things have turned out and I thank Giod every day for all that we have.
Have a great day
Enjoy the sunshine !!!!!!!!

Crazy Day & Draft Day
Wow, so what a day yesterday. Farrah passes away in the morning and then Michael in the late afternoon. So I was a HUGE Farrah fan when I was younger ( what young boy wasn't) and yes, I did have the famouse poster, which I don't think my mom really liked to much, but she never said a thing about it. As for Michael, I like his music and his videos were totally break thru and fascinating, he was a total inovator for the muisc video form. Sad that they have passed, but when it is your time to go, I beleive that there is nothing you can do about it.
Now onto the big topic - NBA Draft Day. The Blazers made some good decisions yesterday and have positioned themselves very nicely for the free agent signing period which begins on July 8th. They gor rid of Sergio, which was a good move and it needed to be done. They also freed up some money ( for them to sign a free agent) by drafting a player from Spain, who will not be here for at least 2 years, so again, it frees up some more money. I believe that the Blazers will add a great veteran player to their roster and continue to improve the team.
Have a great weekend, enjoy the sunshine and take the time to appreciate the people that you love- you never know when the good lord will call them home !!

GREAT HELPERS
Well last night we had to move the piano from the rental to our house. So with the help of some good buddies, Scott from next door ( who provided the dollies) Logan from next door, Eric Carlson and Glenn Moe, we got the piano moved safely. You know who your friends are when you need help with things and without them helping, the piano would still be in the rental.
So thanks guys and thanks for helping move the boxes out of the garage and down to our house, that was HUGE.
So the blinds are all in now, the only thing left is the mattresses which will be there on friday, so only one more night of sleeping on the pull out bed !!!!!
It is amazing how much work has been done allready with moving back in and yet we still have alot to do. Oh well, as the Rolling Stones say " time is on our side.
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!

Stuff
Wow- I seriously forget how much stuff that Serve-Pro took from the house after the fire.
Erin is opening all the boxes of the stuff that they took away and cleaned, and let me say that our garage sale pile is HUGE. We have found out that you can get by without so much stuff. So then I began to think ( I know- scary thought), but why do people have so much stuff. Stuff that they don't use that often or really don't need at all. We all buy things that we will only use one time or NEVER use them at all. It is a lot of work and again my wife is doing a great job and doing most of the work, while I am stuck here at the office. So hopefully I have learned a lesson and will not just buy stuff to have it. Wish me luck on that.
So sometime in the next few weeks we will be having a garage sale, stay tuned people and I will let you know the date.
So get out there and enjoy the sunshine and this wonderful day !!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT WEEKEND
All in all it was a great weekend. It sure didn't start out that way, but it ended up being great.
First of all GEORGE MORLAN may be the water heater king of Portland, but ask for help on a faucet part and it is a whole different story. The sales rep that tried to help us was worthless and his buddy was just as bad. First off, the dude says to my wife, I have friday fevor and I just want to get out of here. So Erin had to give the dude a pep talk to, are you kidding me ?
So then we tell the guy what we need and just because it is a DELTA faucet, you would have thought we had the world's worst faucet. I could go on and on about how worthles the guys was, but the bottom line is that we came out of their with nothing and have no plans to go back.
Saturday was a great day. Got the day started with a nice family breakfast at the Wichita Pub in Clackamas (GREAT FOOD) then we headed out to pick up our new couch- thanks to Eric Carlson for loaning us his pick-up and for helping unload when we got home. So it is a 3 piece sectional with a pull out bed. Anyways- the dude's loading it getting in the pick up and we strap it down ( or so we think), as soon as we get on the freeway, Erin looks back and says - pull over !!
The sleep piece had tipped and was almost falling out of the truck, luckily there was one more ty down in the truck ,so we used that over the top and the problem was fixed.
Got the couch home and then moved the dinning table from the garage into the dinning area. So let me say again- my wife Erin did an AMAZING job of picking out the right colors and furniture for the house
Then it was off to the softball tourney, where the girls played probably their best game of the year, but lost to Molalla 6-4. We did win the second game against Beavercreek, so that meant we played on Sunday at 11 am.
So on Sunday we show up and guess what. The other team no- shows , so we get the win by forfeit and move on to the 3 pm game. So we shoot home, have lunch, move a few more things in the house and then head back to the field. Where we get beat 14-6 and are eliminated from the tourney. All in all, it was about what I expected. We did the best that we could with the talent that we had- just keeping it real folks.
So we headed home and had dinner in our house - the first meal in our house since we had lunch on January 31st- the day of the fire. So with the girls having air mattress blown up in the playroom and the couch having a pull out bed, we decided to spend the night there. We should have our new mattres's on thursday. We just hung out and watched TV and we knew we were finally home. It just felt comfortable.
So today (Monday 6/22/09) they are starting to bring back our stuff that has been cleaned, so by the end of the week, we should have all of your stuff back and start to settle in in this week.
Have a great day !!!!!!!!!!!

GETTING CLOSER
So we are getting so close to moving back into our house, that I just wish we were back in it now.
Amazing how when it seems that there isn't that much left to do, that you find out that there are a lot of little things that still need to be done. Busy weekend ahead, season ending softball tournament, gotta pick up a couch between games and hopefully we will be able to start sleeping in our house on saturday night. The in-laws might come down and check out the house and the tourney. Looking forward to a great fun filled weekend !!!!!!!!

RANDOM THOUGHTS
Sometime things just don't go as planned. Every time that this happens to me, it reminds me that everything is on GOD'S time, not our time, as the saying goes- WE PLAN AND GOD LAUGHS. So instead of getting upset about it, I just move on.
So do you ever wonder if you are making the right decisions when it comes to raising kids.
There are so many decisions that you make each and every day when you are raising kids that all you can do is beleive that you are making the correct decision and then stand by your decison.
I always wonder why some people take everything so seriously ? Why are some people workaholics ? I think people don't take enough time to enjoy and appreciate life. I know that we are all busy with our lives, but seriously everyone needs to slow down a little. Unless a tragedy happens to slow you down, most of us are always in hurry. Those tragedies remind us about what is important to us. wow- I am getting way to heavy, sorry about that.
So for those of you that know me, you know that I do not take things that serious, it is just not in my nature to worry about things. I always have beleived that everything will work and most of the time it does.
Do you ever notice that it always the same people that have drama in their lives over and over again. I have no time for the drama.
I wonder where the sun is today ? Looks like a typical June gloom day here in Oregon.
So we are getting closer by the day to moving back in our house, and we will be so glad, it has been over 5 1/2 months since we had the house fire. The kids handled it very well, however by now they are totally ready to get back to their bedrooms, now that they have been re-painted and redecorated.
My wife ( Erin) has been the one dealing with the insurance lady, and I cannot thank here enough for this. Erin picked out all the paint colors, the carpet , the floors , the granite, the cabinets- so basically she has done almost all of it. I got the flat screen that I wanted, and the couch- so I'm good. Seriously people, my wife has worked her ass off and done an amazing job. Our house looks so awesome and so different than it used to. Still, I would not want anyone I know to have to go thru what we went thru. It has been an incredible experience, but once in a lifetime is more than enough.
I cannot thank our friends enough who helped us out during this process. First off, my neighbor Scott who was the one who discovered the fire and called 911. He bascially saved our house from burning completely down. I can't thank him enough. The Carlsons were HUGE when the fire happened, the took us in and made us feel at home and they did not even complain that we smelled like smoke. You really find out who you can count on during tough times. There are many more to thank, our church was wonderful and they really helped us with meals that people brought over when we moved into the rental house. That was so huge, you have no idea.
We got lucky by being able to rent a house on our same street, just on the other side of my neighbor Scott. So we have been able to look in and watch the process of our house being put back together, which has been nice. One good thing that has come out of this , is that we have got to know Sunshine Buzo and her kids alot better. Her husband Chris has been away in Idaho, because he was called up by the Navy . So we are looking forward to getting to know him better when he gets done with his service.
Why is it that is the same people over and over again that play the role of the martyr ??
I wish that there were more positive people in the world, because there are more than enough negative people out there that try to bring everyone around them down.
No time for negative people.
Have a great day.

MORE
Ok, a little bit more about me.. I am a very lucky man, I am married to the love of my life, I have 2 wonderful daughters, I have a great job, all in all I count my blessings each day. I have one brother and one sister and my mom. My dad passed away a year and a half ago and their is not a day that goes by when I don't think about him , I really miss him. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, our family goes to Eastridge Church in Clackamas, ( check it out on sundays- it rocks and we have an amazing female singer ). I have a lot of good friends and even some great friends. I have wonderful neighbors and some really cool people that live on our street. I have a great brother in-law and great in-laws. I am a positive person, I always think and beleive that things will work out. My faith keeps me going each day, I have always had faith , even when I wasn't attending church. I can honestly say that my life began to turn around when I started going to church. Shortly there after, I met my wife and her girls, and started to attend church with her, this was my first church outside of the Catholic church that I had ever attended. It was a whole new experience for me and I found I really enjoyed her church. Then after we became engaged, she moved down to Oregon ( from Gig Harbor, WA ) and we started to attend Eastridge Church, which has been wonderful. My wife is an AMAZING singer , If I could only sound half as good as her, I would start my own rock band( I know I am dreaming). Our girls are wonderful, and the keep us on the move with soccer, piano, basketball, softball and other social activities. So as I said - I am a very lucky man with a wonderful life and a wonderful wife !!!!!!!!

So the sun is shinning , it is another beautiful day here in Oregon.
