RANDOM THOUGHTS

Sometime things just don't go as planned. Every time that this happens to me, it reminds me that everything is on GOD'S time, not our time, as the saying goes- WE PLAN AND GOD LAUGHS. So instead of getting upset about it, I just move on.
So do you ever wonder if you are making the right decisions when it comes to raising kids.
There are so many decisions that you make each and every day when you are raising kids that all you can do is beleive that you are making the correct decision and then stand by your decison.
I always wonder why some people take everything so seriously ? Why are some people workaholics ? I think people don't take enough time to enjoy and appreciate life. I know that we are all busy with our lives, but seriously everyone needs to slow down a little. Unless a tragedy happens to slow you down, most of us are always in hurry. Those tragedies remind us about what is important to us. wow- I am getting way to heavy, sorry about that.
So for those of you that know me, you know that I do not take things that serious, it is just not in my nature to worry about things. I always have beleived that everything will work and most of the time it does.
Do you ever notice that it always the same people that have drama in their lives over and over again. I have no time for the drama.
I wonder where the sun is today ? Looks like a typical June gloom day here in Oregon.
So we are getting closer by the day to moving back in our house, and we will be so glad, it has been over 5 1/2 months since we had the house fire. The kids handled it very well, however by now they are totally ready to get back to their bedrooms, now that they have been re-painted and redecorated.
My wife ( Erin) has been the one dealing with the insurance lady, and I cannot thank here enough for this. Erin picked out all the paint colors, the carpet , the floors , the granite, the cabinets- so basically she has done almost all of it. I got the flat screen that I wanted, and the couch- so I'm good. Seriously people, my wife has worked her ass off and done an amazing job. Our house looks so awesome and so different than it used to. Still, I would not want anyone I know to have to go thru what we went thru. It has been an incredible experience, but once in a lifetime is more than enough.
I cannot thank our friends enough who helped us out during this process. First off, my neighbor Scott who was the one who discovered the fire and called 911. He bascially saved our house from burning completely down. I can't thank him enough. The Carlsons were HUGE when the fire happened, the took us in and made us feel at home and they did not even complain that we smelled like smoke. You really find out who you can count on during tough times. There are many more to thank, our church was wonderful and they really helped us with meals that people brought over when we moved into the rental house. That was so huge, you have no idea.
We got lucky by being able to rent a house on our same street, just on the other side of my neighbor Scott. So we have been able to look in and watch the process of our house being put back together, which has been nice. One good thing that has come out of this , is that we have got to know Sunshine Buzo and her kids alot better. Her husband Chris has been away in Idaho, because he was called up by the Navy . So we are looking forward to getting to know him better when he gets done with his service.
Why is it that is the same people over and over again that play the role of the martyr ??
I wish that there were more positive people in the world, because there are more than enough negative people out there that try to bring everyone around them down.
No time for negative people.
Have a great day.
Dale
